Water Waste Restrictions

In response to persistent drought conditions throughout the SCV and the State, the SCV Water Board of Directors approved a resolution on April 26, 2022, enacting Stage 2 of the Water Shortage Contingency Plan and Water Conservation and Water Shortage Ordinance.

SCV Water is also concerned with water waste. Not only does wasting water waste money, but we’re also facing a severe multi-year drought with no relief in sight. Every drop counts and we don’t have a drop to waste!

Prohibited Water Waste Measures in Effect

The following common activities are now restricted, can waste significant volumes of water and are easy to remedy.

  • Allowing water to run off your property onto sidewalks, into gutters, and streets, etc.

  • Washing driveways and/or sidewalks

  • Washing a motor vehicle using a hose without a shut-off nozzle

  • Using potable water in non-recirculating fountains and decorative features

  • The application of potable water to outdoor landscapes during and 48 hours after measurable rain

  • The irrigation with potable water of ornamental turf within public medians

  • Limits watering to three days per week
    • Odd addresses (Monday, Wednesday and Friday)
    • Even addresses (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday)
